AccuTec Blades Sets Safety Milestone

Over one year with no lost-time injury.

AccuTec Blades, a leader in precision blade technology, today announced the company has reached a major safety record of no lost-time injury in over a year. This milestone has not been achieved since 2014.

The goal was achieved through the implementation of a plant-wide safety plan. The company adopted a “Safety Starts with Me” slogan. Each day the employees’ goal is to return from work as they came—injury free.

As part of the safety plan, AccuTec provides each employee with proper personal protective equipment, has improved work procedure documentation, enforces training and verification of safety training, and supports an active and involved Safety Committee. Additionally, AccuTec partnered with Augusta Health’s ergonomic team which helped to make workstations more ergonomic and user-friendly, helping to alleviate injuries before they happen.

“I’m extremely proud of each of our employees for achieving this safety milestone. Growing and developing our safety culture has definitely been a priority,” said Sam Gamble, AccuTec’s Safety and Health Specialist.

According to Rob George, AccuTec’s Plant Manager, “This is a huge accomplishment and a great example of how an engaged workforce can influence and make sustained positive changes amongst a facility that handles razor blades on a daily basis.”
