How long has AccuTec Blades been in business?
AccuTec Blades was established in 1875 in Brooklyn, New York as Star Razor. After the second world war, the company moved to Verona, Virginia, relocating over 100 employees to the Shenandoah Valley.   In 2015, the company became AccuTec Blades, Inc.

What trade shows does AccuTec attend?
AccuTec attends or exhibits approximately 35 trade shows per year, both national and international. A sampling of our 2017 shows are Medical Device & Manufacturing (MD&M), American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), Sherwin Williams, American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), FIME and Expo Plastics. Check our newsroom for show information.

What is the difference between 2 Facet and 3 Facet?
Precision-ground two-facet blades balance sharpness and durability, qualities which are especially important when cutting through tough fibers and materials. Ultra sharp three-facet blades cut with greater precision and are ideal for intricate cuts. Learn more on our edges and angles page.

What is the difference between carbon and stainless steel blades?
Blades are composed of two common iron alloys: carbon steel and stainless steel. Carbon steel is manufactured from iron strengthened with carbon. Stainless steel also incorporates chromium to prevent corrosion. Learn more on our metals page.

What is a degreased blade?
A degreased blade is processed through our degreasing treatment whereby any oils, grease and other contaminants are removed. Learn more on our coatings page.

What does “cleanroom-ready” mean?
Cleanroom-ready indicates that the blades are washed, and the packaging is ready for immediate use in any cleanroom environment.
